Angela R. Long

age 66, a 26 year resident of Gurnee, Illinois went home to be with the Lord on June 12, 2021 at Advocate Condell Medical Center, Libertyville.  She was born March 4, 1955 in Denver Colorado to the union of the late Richard J. and Mary (Fort) McBride.  She attended North Chicago High School and graduated from Clarksville High School, Clarksville, Tennessee, class of 1973.  On August 27, 1977 at Inspiration of God COGIC in North Chicago she married Edwin Long and the happy couple started a family.  Angela worked at Fort Sheridan, Allstate Insurance Company, Abbott Labs and American Hospital Supply and stayed with them thru many transitions until it became Cardinal Health.  In corporate America Angela worked her way from secretary to manager of customer service during her career.  She decided later to re-join the work force as the administrator of Jesus Name Apostolic Church, Waukegan, where she worked diligently to set up a system to assist the church in sound business practice before retiring to take care of her family.  She was an avid reader which influenced her many travels, her favorite destination was Disney World. She was also passionate about todays politics and the state of our country.

Beloved wife of Edwin Long. Loving mother of Shauna (Craig) Hacker of Round Lake and Stephanie Long of Gurnee. Fond grandmother of Nicholas Long, Imani Long, Mitch Hacker, Kaitlyn (Jesus) Hacker-Melendez and Max Hacker.  Dear sister of Celestia (John) Caples of Wadsworth, Cynthia (Richard) Dyse of Waukegan, Faith (late Paul) Johnson of Las Vegas, Nevada and Charles McBride of Pleasant Prairie, Wisconsin.  Cherished daughter-in-law of Rose and the late Edwin Long, Sr. of Gurnee. Sister-in-law of Christine (late Joe) Williams of Gurnee and Addie B. Porter of Gurnee. Devoted lifelong best friend of Gloria (late George) Lewis of Waukegan and aunt and friend to many especially her aunt Willie Jean Hunter of Atlanta, Georgia.

Visitation Monday, June 21, 2021 from 10:00 A.M. until time of funeral service 11:00 A.M. at the Symonds-Lakes Funeral Home, 111 W. Belvidere Road, Grayslake, Illinois. Pastor John Caples, officiating. Interment will be private at Highland Memorial Park, Libertyville, Illinois. Memorial contributions may be made to Jesus Name Apostolic Church, 150 S. Genesee Street, Waukegan, IL 60085 would be appreciated.
