Antoni "Tony" Dziekanski

Antoni "Tony" Dziekanski, 73, of Chicago, IL passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 2, 2026,at the Rush University Hospital of Chicago, he was born in Sokolowice, Poland on August 1, 1952 to Stanislaw and Genowefa Dziekanski. Tony was the forth of eight siblings. He lived a remarkable life marked by hard work, tenacity, and unwavering dedication, Tony could do everything that needed to be built from kitchens, bathrooms, additions, decks, garages, from plumbing to electrical, you name it Tony Built it, if Tony wasn’t working, he was fishing or gardening with his brother John or with his sister Kazia, or just spending time with his grandchildren.

Tony is survived by his companion of 32 years Kasia Kapicka of Chicago, his children; Mark (Tracy) Dziekanski of Huntley, Monika ( Xavier Ontiveros) Dziekanski of Riverside, and Agnes (James) Kmilek of Streamwood, his grandchildren, Kamila, Cecilia, Nina, Cooper, Anna, Alex and Josh, his brothers and sisters; Kazimiera (the late Eugienusz) Wisniewski, the late Tadeusz Dziekanski, the late John (Victoria) Dziekanski, Sophie (the late Zdzislaw) Horabik, the late Mitchell Dziekanski, the late Anna Muller, and the late Lester Dziekanski. and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, May 12, 2026, 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Symonds Lakes Funeral Home 111 W. Belvidere Rd. Grayslake, IL 60030. Wednesday, May 13, 2026 morning visitation will be held at 10:00 AM until time of Funeral Mass at 11:00 AM at the St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church, 181 Dundee Rd.
