Arturo Tejeda-Camacho:

Arturo Tejeda-Camacho, age 59, of North Chicago, Illinois, passed away peacefully at his home on Monday, December 1, 2025. He was born on June 15, 1966, in Mexico, to the union of Delfino Tejeda-Elizalde and Maria de las Nieves Camacho Marroquín.

In 1985, Arturo embarked on a new chapter when he immigrated to Wisconsin, carrying with him the values of hard work, family devotion, and quiet determination. In March 1989, he married Tomasa Ramirez. Together, they returned to Illinois and began building a family.

Arturo was a man whose character spoke louder than words. He was known for his unwavering reliability—punctual, dependable, and impeccably organized. Whatever he put his hands to, he took pride in doing well. He was a great handyman who could fix just about anything. To his nieces and nephews, he was fondly known as “the handsome uncle.”

His garage was his happy place. Arturo found peace and joy in the rhythm of working with his hands. His cars were always spotless inside and out, a reflection of the care and pride he carried in all aspects of life.

Arturo had a magnetic presence. His quick wit, lively sense of humor, and contagious laugh made him fun to be around. He was also a devoted soccer fan, always ready to cheer on his favorite teams.

Among all the roles he carried in life, the one that brought him the greatest joy was being a grandfather. Known affectionately as “Grandpa ‘Turo”.

Arturo is survived by his three beloved daughters: Maritza (Anthony) Gould; Angelica Tejeda-Juarez; and Vivian (Angel) Tejeda. He leaves behind three cherished grandchildren: Sophia Gould, Javier Juarez, and Olivia Gould.

He was the sixth of seven siblings and is survived by Marco Antonio Tejeda; Joel (Conchita) Tejeda; Rosario Tejeda; Teresa (late Humberto) Arellano; and Miguel Angel (Ana) Tejeda. He was preceded in death by his brother, Father Francisco Javier Tejeda. Arturo was a beloved uncle to many nieces, nephews, and extended family.

Visitation will be held on Friday, December 12, 2025, from 4:00 to 9:00 p.m. at Seguin & Symonds Funeral Home, 858 Sheridan Road, Highwood, Illinois.

Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, December 13, 2025, Noon at Most Blessed Trinity Parish, 450 Keller Avenue, Waukegan, Illinois.

Arturo’s legacy lives on in the memories he created and the lives he touched.

Arturo Tejeda-Camacho, de 59 años, residente de North Chicago, Illinois, falleció pacíficamente en su hogar el lunes 1 de diciembre de 2025. Nació el 15 de junio de 1966 en Guerrero, México, hijo de la unión de Delfino Tejeda-Elizalde y María de las Nieves Camacho Marroquín.

En 1985, Arturo inició un nuevo capítulo en su vida cuando emigró a Wisconsin, llevando consigo los valores del trabajo duro, la devoción familiar y una gran determinación. En marzo de 1989 se casó con Tomasa Ramírez. Juntos regresaron a Illinois, donde comenzaron su familia.

Arturo fue un hombre cuyo carácter hablaba más fuerte que las palabras. Era conocido por su fiabilidad inquebrantable: puntual, responsable y meticulosamente organizado. Todo lo que hacía, lo hacía con orgullo y dedicación. El podía arreglar casi cualquier cosa! Para sus sobrinas y sobrinos, Arturo era también el querido “tío guapo”.

Su garaje era su lugar donde se sentía feliz. Ya fuera puliendo herramientas, ordenando cajones o atendiendo sus carros, Arturo encontraba paz y alegría en trabajar con sus manos. Sus autos siempre estaban impecables por dentro y por fuera, reflejo del cuidado y la dedicación que ponía en cada aspecto de su vida.

Arturo tenía un agudo ingenio, con su gran sentido del humor y su risa contagiosa se la pasaban muy divertido con el. También era un apasionado aficionado al fútbol, siempre listo para apoyar a sus equipos favoritos.

Entre todos los roles que desempeñó en su vida, el que más orgullo y alegría le daba fue el de ser abuelo. Conocido cariñosamente como “grampa turo”.

Arturo deja en vida a sus tres amadas hijas: Maritza (Anthony) Gould; Angélica Tejeda-Juárez; y Vivian (Ángel) Tejeda. También le sobreviven sus tres queridos nietos: Sophia Gould, Javier Juárez y Olivia Gould.

Era el sexto de siete hermanos y le sobreviven Marco Antonio Tejeda; Joel (Conchita) Tejeda; Rosario Tejeda; Teresa († Humberto) Arellano; y Miguel Ángel (Ana) Tejeda. Fue precedido en muerte por su hermano, Presbítero Francisco Javier Tejeda. Arturo fue también un tío muy querido por todos sus sobrinos, sobrinas y familiares extendidos.

La visitación se llevará a cabo el viernes 12 de diciembre de 2025, de 4:00 a 9:00 p.m. en Seguin & Symonds Funeral Home, 858 Sheridan Road, Highwood, Illinois.

La Misa de Funeral se celebrará el sábado 13 de diciembre de 2025, a las doce del medio día en Most Blessed Trinity Parish, 450 Keller Avenue, Waukegan, Illinois.

El legado de Arturo queda en su familia, su oficio, su fe y las alegrías simples pero profundas de cada día. También será recordado por su buen humor, tantos bellos recuerdos que creo en tantas vidas que tocó.
