Carlos Alfredo Martinez

Carlos Alfredo Martinez, age 33, of Highwood, Illinois passed away suddenly on October 10, 2023 at Highland Park Hospital. He was born at Norwegian American Hospital in Chicago on June 3, 1990 to Georgina Mentado and Enrique Martinez. He grew up on the south side of Chicago until moving to Waukegan then to Highwood. Attended Highland Park High School class of 2007. Carlos worked at many area locations for McDonald's for years and worked his was up to manager.

Carlos was humble, respectful and loved making people laugh. He loved house music, spoken word, freestyle rapping and was good at mimicking any musical artist. His hobbies were dancing, drawing, and cooking for everyone. He always had smile on his face even on his darkest days. He always said "I love you" with a hug and a kiss on your forehead. 

Loving son to Georgina Bollas of Highwood, IL and Enrique Martinez of Detroit, MI. Cherished father to Kinsley Martinez Thompson and Cindelle Martinez Alonso. Beloved brother to Cesar Bollas of Highwood, IL, Tanya Bollas of Highwood, IL., Johan A. Martinez of Chicago, IL, Angela Martinez Arroyo of Chicago, IL., Madelane G. Martinez of Detroit, MI and Jonathan E. Martinez Trejo of Detroit, MI. Dear Grandson to Juan and Ricarda Mentado of Round Lake Beach, IL and Angela and Maximiliano Martinez of Chicago, IL. With many uncles, aunts, and cousins to mourn his passing.  

Visitation Friday, October 20, 2023 from 4:00 until 8:00 P.M. at The Symonds Lakes Funeral Home, 111 West Belvidere Road, Grayslake. Friends and family will gather on Saturday for visitation from 10:30 A.M. until time of funeral service 11:00 A.M. at the Church of Joy, 2000 Western Avenue, Waukegan, IL 60087. Pastor Louis R. Reyes, officiating. Interment will follow at the Vernon Township Cemetery, 15215 Cemetery Road at Milwaukee Avenue, Lincolnshire, IL 60069 at approx. 1:00 P.M.
