Catherine Lambrecht, 86, passed away peacefully on February 20, 2025 in Highland Park, where she lived for 55 years with her husband Carl. Married for 66 years, they shared a sense of history and enjoyment in travel while residing in homes in Chicago, Northampton, Massachusetts, Rockville, Maryland before settling in Highland Park in 1970.
Straight from high school, Catherine worked briefly as a stenographer for the FBI before marrying Carl.
Their traveling spirit began with an 8-1/2-month honeymoon, returning just two months before their first child’s birth. Over their marriage they explored the USA concentrating on the east coast. They explored Europe from the west coast of Ireland east to Moscow, USSR, as far north as Hammerfest, Norway and south to Sofia Bulgaria, Istanbul, Turkey, and Rome, Italy. Later they visited Barbados in the Caribbean, and Venezuela, Brazil, Paraguay, Argentina, and Chile in South America.
Her final journey is to Heaven to be with her family and friends who came before her.
Most important was her family …
"I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Now there is in store for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to me on that day."
2 Timothy 4:7-8
Besides her husband, Carl, she is survived by her daughters Catherine, Laura, Mary (Ram) Kalapatapu, Jeanne (Dennis Suchyta) Lambrecht, grandchildren Brittany (Phil Nguyen) D’Arcy, Elizabeth (Bryce McDaniel) D’Arcy McDaniel, Maya Kalapatapu and Max Kalapatapu, and
identical twin great-granddaughters Chloe and Arden D’Arcy-Nguyen, and brother Thomas (Jean) Byrne. She was predeceased by her parents Thomas and Della Byrne and in-laws Karl and Helen, and their son Robert Lambrecht.
Visitation on March 8, 2025 from 9:00 AM until time of funeral mass 10:00 AM at Christ Our Hope Parish, Immaculate Conception Church, 770 Deerfield Road, Highland Park, Illinois.
