Catherine Malone

Our dear Mother, Catherine "Kathy" Malone, 82, of Buffalo Grove, Illinois, briefly Wheeling, Illinois, took her final breath surrounded by her loved ones on Saturday, December 2, 2023, in Antioch, Illinois. Kathy was born in Waukegan, Illinois, to the union of George and Genevieve (Perry) Kay. She grew up in Highwood, Illinois, and moved to Texas, where Kathy married Arvil "Frank" Malone, and they had five beautiful children. A devoted mother who taught her children to serve God and was always there when needed, she was kind, generous, respectful, and had a solid work ethic, passing those traits onto her children. Kathy was a former bowler, gymnast, and baseball player. She loved animals; Kathy had many dogs throughout her life and enjoyed riding her horse, Tonya. She was a great card player and enjoyed watching the Cubs and the Bulls, particularly Michael Jordan. Kathy was very loved and will be missed terribly by many.

Her five children survive Kathy: David (Tonya) Malone, Linda Malone, Tammy Malone, Pamela (Tony) Sullentrup, and Mark Malone; 11 grandchildren: Sydney (fiancé Josh Franks) Malone, Rebekah Malone, Dominic Lozano, Caroline Malone, Taylor Malone, George Malone, David Malone, Oliver Malone, Jeremy Sullentrup, Amber Sullentrup, and Brandon Sullentrup; 3 great-grandchildren. 5 sisters: Dorothy (Joe) Siegele, Mary (Steve) Turner, Gerda Kay, Genevieve Lingen and Georgann (Cy) Berg; along with nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.

Kathy was predeceased by her parents, George and Genevieve Kay; one brother, George Kay; and one sister, Beverly Walton.

A visitation will take place on Thursday, December 7, 2023, from 4:00 to 9:00 P.M. and on Friday, December 8, 2023, from 9:00 A.M. until the time of funeral services 10:00 A.M. at the Seguin & Symonds Funeral Home, 858 Sheridan Road, Highwood, IL 60040.
