Cesareo Bartolo Gómez

Cesareo Gómez, age 99, of Highland Park, Illinois passed away Sunday, March 19, 2023 at home in Palatine. He was born April 20, 1923 in La Quemada, Guanajuato, Mexico to his parents Pedro Gómez and Maria Torres. Cesareo married Concepcion Gómez in Mexico, and they started their family together. 

Cesareo migrated to Highland Park, Illinois in the 1960's and brought his wife and children shortly after. Once establishing life in Illinois for nearly 20 years, Cesareo and his wife retired in Eagle Pass, Texas until returning back in 2017 for the remainder of their life.

Cesareo was a wise and loving man that will be remembered for his family values, strong work ethic, independence, love for singing, and great stories that will be cherished dearly.

He is survived by his daughter Maria G. (Jorge) Nevarez; son Aurelio Gómez; daughter Estela Ramos (Jose M. Lara); son Mario M. Gómez; siblings Lina Gómez de Lopez, Maria Vasquez, Donaciano Gómez and Florencia Cisneros. His grandchildren Jorge Jr., Norma, Orlando, Jose Alfredo, Veronica, Nydia, Maria Esther, Rene, Lizeth, Argelia, Aurelio Jr., Sonia, Ventura III, Vanessa, Elizabeth, Mario Jr., Nestor Daniel, Ruben Alonso, Javier Alejandro, Mauricio, and Sebastian; and many great grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents Pedro Gómez and Maria Torres; his wife Concepcion Gómez; his sons Cesareo Gómez (survived by Yolanda), Oscar Gómez (survived by Gertrudes), and Javier Gómez. his brothers Juan Gómez, Francisco Gómez, Marcelino Gómez and Jose Manuel Gómez.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 23, 2023 at the Seguin & Symonds Funeral Home, 858 Sheridan Road, Highwood, IL from 4:00 to 9:00 PM with an evening service at 7:00 PM led by Rev. Hernan Cuevas of Christ our Hope Parish, Highland Park and Highwood.  Cremation will be private.
