Clarence Campbell, Jr. age 99 of Evanston passed away on Tuesday, November 16, 2021 at Aperion Care of Evanston. He was born March 18, 1922 in Brookhaven, Mississippi to the union of Clarence and Selena (Johnson) Campbell, Sr. He enlisted on December 8, 1941 in the U.S. Army and was a veteran of WW II attaining the rank of PFC. He came from simple beginnings, his family worked as share croppers in Collin, Mississippi and after the war he settled in Evanston where he met and married his wife Fannie Johnson and the happy couple resided there until their deaths.
He is preceded in death by his wife Fannie Johnson Campbell January 13, 1931 to December 7, 1996.
He is survived my many nieces and nephews that will miss him terribly. Dorothy Peters, Anthony Peters, Rodney Peters, Theresa Peters and Alice Turner.
Graveside service and military honors will be celebrated on Thursday, December 2, 2021 2:00 P.M. at Fort Sheridan Cemetery, Highwood, Illinois.
