Crystal Leggett Pranger Obituary

With heavy hearts we announce the passing of Crystal Anne Leggett-Pranger, 40, of Grayslake, IL on Wednesday, January 21, 2026 at home surrounded by her family following her courageous battle with stage IV lung cancer. She was born on June 2, 1985 in Plattsburgh, NY, and was the only daughter of four children born to the union of Lee and Della Leggett. Much like her mother Crystal was a very compassionate human being and loved her two kids more than anything in the world. How much she was loved throughout the community was seen and felt in her last months in her battle with cancer. She showed kindness to everyone she crossed paths with and treated strangers like they were family.

As a young girl you could find Crystal out fishing with her father and brothers. Throughout her high school years Crystal played softball for the Grayslake Rams and hung out with her close-knit group of friends. Once she gave birth to her son Aiden, her life revolved around taking care of him and making sure he had everything he needed. Then came the birth of her daughter Ava. She was a very involved mother, taking her children to birthday parties, on camping trips, and attending/participating in every girl scout trip or meeting that Ava ever had. Crystals’ loving heart and care for others will be greatly missed throughout the Leggett family and her community. “Gone from our sight, but never from our hearts.”

Crystal is survived by her father Lee Leggett of Grayslake, IL, her children: Aiden Michael Leggett of Round Lake, and Ava Kate-Marie Pranger of Lake Villa, her brothers; Michael (Shelly) Bedard of Plattsburgh, NY, Derek (Jill Buljubasic) Leggett of Oak Creek, WI, Nicholas (Keri) Leggett of Round Lake Beach, and Austin Leggett of Grayslake. Her nieces and nephews; Nathaniel, Reese, Gwen, Cooper, Lance, Charlotte, Olivia, Noah, Mason, Caleb, and Connor, her uncles on her mother’s side; David (Wanda) Swenson of Mountain Home, ID, and Doug Swenson of Mountain Home, ID. Her uncle and aunt on her father’s side, David Leggett of West Chazy, NY and Carol Leggett of West Chazy, NY. She was preceded in death by her grandparents on her mother’s side Raymond and Eileen Swenson, and on her father’s side Jim and Janine Leggett.
