Emilio Piacenza

Emilio Piacenza, age 78 of Fountain Hills, AZ formerly of Highland Park/Highwood passed away Sunday, July 25, 2021 at Honor Health, Scottsdale, AZ.  He was born May 16, 1943 in Sant'Anna Pelago, Modena, Italy to the union of Vittorio and Rosina (Picchietti) Piacenza.  He immigrated at the age of 12 to Highland Park with his family where they made their home.  On October 28, 1963 at Immaculate Conception Church in Highland Park he married Kathy Rafferty and they started a family.  Emilio was a butcher by trade and he was the owner of Emilio's Food Mart in Highwood and then worked as a stone mason in construction.  On April 2, 1989 in Lake Tahoe, NV he married Lynn Svenstad.  After his retirement he moved to Fountain Hills, AZ.

Loving father of Lisa Thuente of Deerfield, Steve Piacenza of Los Angeles, CA, Gina (Nick) DeBoer of Gurnee and Jamie (Jean) Simko of Charlotte, NC Fond Nonno of Cody and Dylan Thuente, Caitlyn Lenzini and Kylie Muzik. Dear brother of Romano Piacenza of Highwood. Cherished Zio of Luana (Andy) DiVecchio of Highland Park, Daniela (Dan) Emmerich of Highland Park and David (Nina) Piacenza of Highland Park and Bis-Zio to many.

Visitation Friday, August 13, 2021 from 4:00 to 9:00 P.M. at the Seguin and Symonds Funeral Home, 858 Sheridan Road, Highwood. Funeral mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, August 14, 2021 10:00 A.M. at Saint James Church, 134 North Avenue, Highwood. Interment will follow at Ascension Cemetery, Libertyville.
