Emma Tyler was born in Rome, Mississippi on August 29, 1933, to her loving parents, Francis and John Bryant. She lived a full and meaningful life, touching the hearts of everyone who had the privilege of knowing her. At the age of 6, Emma and her parents relocated to Evanston, Illinois. In 1953, she married the love of her life, Theodore Roosevelt Tyler, and together they created a strong family foundation rooted in faith and togetherness. She and her husband moved to New York, where they built a life filled with love, laughter, and hard work. Emma dedicated many years of service to the community through her work at Lincoln Hospital, where she worked faithfully from August of 1977 until her retirement in August of 2007. Her commitment, work ethic, and caring spirit were evident to all who worked alongside her. Although Emma relocated, she was the glue who kept her Midwest and East Coast family together. She made sure New York knew about Illinois and Illinois knew about New York. This was done throughout the years traveling back and forth by connecting the family members to each other.Emma was truly a great woman-the life of the party-always bringing laughter, joy, and unforgettable moments wherever she went. She was well known for her classic sayings that will live on forever in the hearts of her family. From "when Emma speaking start squeaking," to her familiar "and you know that," and when asked what she was doing, she would often reply, "Doing the same thing I always do-looking at the four walls." These words, spoken in her unique way, will never be forgotten.Emma leaves behind a large and loving family who will forever cherish her memories. She is survived by her six children; Cynthia, Darlene, Marilyn, Cassandra, Tony, and Tyrone Tyler. Her sister Rosemary Campbell; sister-in-law Mary Bryant; brother-in-law Steven Campbell; eleven nieces and nephews; fourteen grandchildren; and thirty-three great-grands. Her legacy lives on through each of them. Emma Tyler will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. She will never be forgotten, and her spirit will continue to shine through the family she leaves behind. She is now walking with God, watching over each and every one of us, forever loved and forever remembered.
