Enrico La Valle
Age 60, of Highwood, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, February 5, 2025, at 9:15 PM, surrounded by his beloved family at Highland Park Hospital.
Born on April 5, 1964, in the town of Cosenza, Calabria, Italy, Enrico was the cherished first-born child of Attilio La Valle and Dorina Perrelli. On June 5, 1982, he married Gloria Pacillo and together they began a life full of love, family, and shared memories.
In August of 1990, Enrico made the courageous decision to bring his family to the United States in search of new opportunities, ultimately settling in Highwood to build a life full of promise. It was here that Enrico found his calling as a painter and later founded his own company, Italian Painting and Decorating.
Music flowed through Enrico’s veins, a gift from his talented father, Attilio, who was a musician himself. He often danced with his daughters and granddaughters, bringing joy and laughter to all around him.
Enrico’s devotion to his family was unparalleled—his love for his children and grandchildren was immense, and he gave of himself tirelessly to care for them, always ready to lend a helping hand.
Weekends were often spent with extended family. These moments spent with his loved ones, sharing laughter and creating memories, will remain forever etched in their hearts.
A true connoisseur of life, Enrico had an unrelenting passion for traditional Italian food and took great pride in his Italian heritage including cheering on his beloved soccer team, Napoli.
Enrico was preceded in death by his cherished daughter, Dorina La Valle, who was called to heaven far too soon on June 21, 1981, at just three days old. He is lovingly remembered by his daughters and son: Anna (Kevin) La Porta, Carmela La Valle, Francesca Facchini, Attilio La Valle and Sofia La Valle. His adored grandchildren: Lylyana Facchini, Siena La Porta, and Giada "Gigi" La Porta. His dear siblings: Francesca La Valle (Enzo Scrugli), the late Cesare La Valle, Maria La Valle (Gianluca Manzo), and Sonia La Valle; as well as many cherished nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Enrico is also survived by his devoted partner of 11 years, Monica Jacobo, whose love and companionship brought him great joy in his later years.
Enrico’s family will forever miss his unwavering presence, his kindness, his warm heart, and the immense love he shared with them. His memory will live on in the hearts of all who were blessed to know him.
A memorial visitation will be held on Tuesday, February 11, 2025, from 4:00 to 9:00 PM, with an evening memorial service at 8:00 PM at Seguin & Symonds Funeral Home, 858 Sheridan Road, Highwood. A private entombment will follow at Ascension Cemetery, Libertyville.
