Gerald Hastings

Gerald Hastings age 85 of Carillon North in Grayslake passed away on Friday, March 14, 2025. Jerry was born February 21, 1940 in Chicago, Illinois to the union of Philip and Violet (Geartner) Hastings. For over 30 years Jerry had a remarkable career as a film editor.

Survivors include his partner Lee, daughter Veronica Ann Hastings (Roger Todd) and son Scott (Kim) Hastings. A sister Phyllis Birdie, nephew Dan, Niece Cindy and 4 great nieces and nephews Joe, Justin, Josh and Karly. He was uncle to Beth, Roger, Rocky, Chris, Jack, Madi, Wyatt, Ryan and Emma.

Jerry most enjoyed target shooting and 5 O'clock cocktail time at Sutton Terrace.

Visitation Wednesday, March 19, 2025 from 9:30 until time of funeral mass 10:30 AM at Christ Our Hope Parish, St. James Church, 134 North Avenue, Highwood. Rev. Hernan Cuevas, celebrant. Interment will follow at Ascension Catholic Cemetery, 1920 Buckley Road, Libertyville, Illinois.  In lieu of flowers contributions to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital would be appreciated.
