Glenn D. Baxter

Glenn D. Baxter, age 87 of Chicago passed away at home on Thursday, October 5, 2023. Born February 22, 1936 in Chicago, To the union of Dean O. and Marie A. (Ziemba) Baxter. Raised in Chicago he graduated Hyde Park High School, and then enlisted in the U.S. Air Force from 1955 - 1963 receiving the rank of Airman Second Class. On January 13, 1962 at St. Aloysius Catholic Church, Chicago he married Katherine Irene Simonson and the happy couple started their family together.  Glenn loved trains, airplanes, worked for Illinois Central, Gulf Mobile and EJC. He worked for Lincoln Park Zoo in the farm and ran the Chicago 4H Chapter. He also worked as an electrician for several Chicago Hotels. In all of Glenns leisure time you could find him watching tv, there he was an "expert" tv remote jockey.

Beloved husband of of 61 years to Katherine. Loving father of Janice (David), Douglas, Matthew (Laura) and Gregory (Evelyn). Fond grandfather of 8, great grandfather of 8. Dear brother of Joyce (Tom) and Louise (Tom).

Visitation Wednesday, October 11, 2023 from 5:00 to 8:00 P.M., Funeral Service 7:00 P.M. at the Mt. Olive Church, 3850 N. Tripp Avenue, Chicago, IL 60641. Pastor Bob Williams, officiating.  Private Military Honors and interment will take place the following day at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery. Elwood, Illinois.
