Graziella D'Amore

Graziella D’Amore (née Li Cavoli), age 68, of Highland Park, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 13, 2025, at her home, surrounded by the love of her family.

Graziella was born on March 4, 1957, in Terrasini, Palermo, Italy, to Andrea Li Cavoli and Girolama Palazzolo. With courage, hope, and a deep love for family, she immigrated to Highland Park on November 16, 1983. Just days later, on November 30, 1983, she married the love of her life, Marco D’Amore, at Immaculate Conception Church, Highland Park, Illinois—a love that would remain strong and joyful throughout their lives together.

A proud member of the Highwood Bocce Ball Club, Graziella cherished time spent at Italian dinner dances, especially when she could dance alongside her beloved Marco. Known for her radiant smile, playful humor, and warm spirit, she was truly la vita della festa—the life of every gathering. Her laughter filled rooms, and her presence brought comfort and joy to all who knew her.

Graziella was the beloved wife of Marco D’Amore; the devoted and loving mother of Giuseppe (Uzma) D’Amore of Winthrop Harbour, Andrea D’Amore (Michelle Lisitza) of Libertyville, IL, Erina (Salvatore) DiMaggio of Macomb, Michigan, and Daniele D’Amore of Highland Park; and the cherished Nonna of Giuseppe and Teresa, who were the light of her life.

She is also survived by her dear sister Francesca (Gaetano) Firicano, sisters-in-law Giuseppina and Lina, all of Terrasini, Italy, as well as many loving nieces, nephews, and friends who will forever carry her memory in their hearts.

Graziella was preceded in death by her beloved brothers, Graziano and Angelo Li Cavoli.

Family and friends will gather for visitation on Friday, January 16, 2025, from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the Funeral Mass at 10:00 a.m. at Christ Our Hope Parish – Immaculate Conception Church, 770 Deerfield Road, Highland Park. Rev. Hernan Cuevas will officiate.
Interment will follow at Ascension Cemetery, 1920 Buckley Road, Libertyville, Illinois.
