James M. Davenport, age 66 of Phoenix, Arizona peacefully passed away on March 30th, 2023.
Born on December 16, 1956 in Madison, WI. James was the son of Robert L. Davenport and Leona Woolworth Davenport.
He graduated from Mundelein High School class of 1974 and received notable achievements working for the Cook County Treasurer's Office until his retirement.
Beyond work, James was an enthusiastic member of the Chicago Sports Association. He had a passion for sports such as bowling and softball. He will be remembered for his bright smile, loving spirit, and charisma.
James is survived by his sisters, Sharon Henderson, Kathleen L. Sharp, Debra A. Stokovich and brother, Bill Davenport. His nephews and nieces, Nicholas J. Stokovich, Alyssa M. Stokovich, Sheila Bradford, Holli Johnson, Deanna Buckner and April Keyes. Close first cousin, Wanda Bambery. He had many great nieces and nephews. He also leaves behind his beloved dogs.
He is preceded in death by his life partner George Weiner. His aunts, Virginia Haney, Skeet Rae and Margaret McDougal. In life he made many great friends including lifelong friend Christopher Childs, David and Jenny Bishop.
