James M. Andress

James Michael Andress, age 79 of Lake Forest passed away on Thursday, July 13, 2023. He was born December 1, 1943 in Jackson, Michigan to the union Herbert Thomas and Doris Irene (Tygh) Andress. Raised in Jackson, Michigan he graduated from Jackson High School, attended the University of Michigan receiving a Bachelors of Science in Zoology, and received a Masters in Physiology from Western Michigan University and became a diplomate from the American Board of Toxicology.  He began his career at Searle Labs where he met Sue Ellen Haine and on January 29, 1979 the couple married at Long Grove Community Church and started their family.  Jim's passion was being a crew member in the Mackinac Island Races. He was an avid water skier, he loved traveling, vacations to Australia, Hilton Head, Hawaii the Grand Canyon. He would take his family RVing all over the U.S. and Canada. Jim had a passion for cars, especially BMWs he enjoyed working on cars but mostly enjoyed being a high performance driver, and had the speeding tickets to prove it.  

Beloved husband of Sue. Loving father of Lyndsey (Jay) Simala of Gurnee and Camille Andress of Lake Bluff. Fond grandfather of Asheber, Isabelle, Anna and Ian. Dear brother of the late Thomas "Tommy" Andress in 1987. Extended family member Jodi Simala of Chicago.

Visitation Thursday, July 20, 2023 from 4:00 to 8:00 PM at the Seguin & Symonds Funeral Home, 858 Sheridan Road, Highwood. Funeral services will be on Friday, July 21, 2023 10:00 A.M. at Christ Church Lake Forest, 100 North Waukegan Road, Lake Forest. Interment will be private.
