With profound sadness, we announce the passing of Javier Alexander Gutierrez, who entered eternal rest on July 14, 2026, at the age of 41.

Javier was born on February 9, 1985, in Mexico City, Mexico, to Javier Gutierrez Diaz and Barbarita Niño Villanueva. He will forever be remembered for his kind heart, contagious sense of humor, generous spirit, and the unconditional love he shared with his family and friends.

Javier attended Oak Terrace Elementary School before beginning high school at Highland Park High School, where he proudly competed on both the soccer and wrestling teams. He later transferred to Lake Forest High School, where he continued his passion for athletics as a member of the wrestling team and graduated with the Class of 2004. Following graduation, he pursued his lifelong passion for automotive repair by attending technical school, becoming a highly skilled and respected mechanic.

He began his career at the Honda dealership in Highland Park, where he honed his craft and built many lifelong friendships. Later, Javier joined his father at Javier's Garage, where they worked side by side doing what they loved most. Working on cars was more than a profession—it was a lifelong passion that brought him immense pride, purpose, and fulfillment.

Outside of work, Javier enjoyed spending time in his room listening to music through the impressive sound system and lighting setup he proudly assembled himself. A kid at heart, he found joy in collecting shoes, colognes, watches, and Hot Wheels. His playful personality, infectious laughter, and enthusiasm for the things he loved made him unforgettable to everyone who knew him.

Javier was known for being funny, compassionate, understanding, and someone who never judged others. He had a remarkable gift for making people feel welcome and always knew how to bring a smile to those around him. He also cherished his pets, dogs and cats, who were faithful companions and brought him endless comfort and happiness.

Above all else, Javier was a devoted father. He loved and supported his children unconditionally and took great pride in watching them grow. One of the happiest chapters of his life was becoming a grandfather. He embraced the role of "Grandpa" with tremendous joy and excitement, cherishing every moment with his precious granddaughter.

Javier was preceded in death by his beloved father, Javier Gutierrez Diaz, whose love of automobiles and unwavering dedication to family left a legacy that Javier proudly carried on throughout his life.

He is lovingly survived by his mother, Barbarita Niño Villanueva; his children, Jomar Gutierrez, Amber Gutierrez, and Cattaleya Gutierrez; his cherished granddaughter, Lèxanna Gutierrez; his sisters, Natali (Christopher) Negron, Itzel (Edgar) Gonzalez, and Ana Gutierrez (Alfonso Alvarez); as well as many beloved aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends who will forever hold his memory close to their hearts.

Although his time on earth was far too short, Javier's love, laughter, generosity, and unforgettable spirit will continue to live on in the hearts of all who were blessed to know and love him.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, July 19, 2026, from 4:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Seguin & Symonds Funeral Home, 858 Sheridan Road, Highwood, Illinois 60040.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, July 20, 2026, beginning at 8:30 a.m. at Seguin & Symonds Funeral Home. Prayers will begin at 9:30 a.m., followed by a procession to Christ Our Hope Parish – Saint James Church, 134 North Avenue, Highwood, Illinois, where the Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. The Reverend Hernan Cuevas will serve as celebrant.

Interment will immediately follow at Ascension Cemetery, 1920 Buckley Road, Libertyville, Illinois.

Javier's family extends their heartfelt gratitude to everyone who has offered prayers, love, support, and kindness during this difficult time. Your compassion has brought great comfort as they mourn the loss of a beloved son, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend.

Though he is no longer with us, Javier's memory will forever live on through the lives he touched, the love he gave so freely, and the countless memories shared with those who knew him. He will be deeply missed, lovingly remembered, and forever carried in our hearts.

Con profundo pesar, anunciamos el fallecimiento de Javier Alexander Gutierrez, quien partió a la presencia del Señor el 14 de julio de 2026, a la edad de 41 años.

Javier nació el 9 de febrero de 1985 en la Ciudad de México, México, hijo de Javier Gutierrez Diaz y Barbarita Niño Villanueva. Será recordado por siempre por su noble corazón, su contagioso sentido del humor, su espíritu generoso y el amor incondicional que brindó a su familia y amigos.

Javier asistió a la Escuela Primaria Oak Terrace antes de comenzar la preparatoria en Highland Park High School, donde con orgullo formó parte de los equipos de fútbol y lucha libre. Más tarde se transfirió a Lake Forest High School, donde continuó su pasión por el deporte como integrante del equipo de lucha libre y se graduó con la generación del 2004. Después de graduarse, asistió a una escuela técnica para seguir su pasión por la mecánica automotriz, convirtiéndose en un mecánico altamente capacitado y respetado.

Comenzó su carrera profesional en la agencia Honda de Highland Park, donde perfeccionó su oficio y forjó muchas amistades que conservaría toda la vida. Más adelante se unió a su padre en Javier's Garage, donde trabajaron hombro a hombro haciendo lo que más amaban. Trabajar en automóviles fue mucho más que una profesión para Javier; fue una pasión de toda la vida que le brindó un profundo orgullo, propósito y satisfacción.

Fuera del trabajo, Javier disfrutaba pasar tiempo en su habitación escuchando música a través del impresionante sistema de sonido e iluminación que él mismo instaló con orgullo. Siempre conservó el corazón de un niño y encontraba alegría coleccionando tenis, lociones, relojes y carros Hot Wheels. Su personalidad alegre, su risa contagiosa y el entusiasmo con el que disfrutaba las cosas que amaba lo hicieron inolvidable para todos los que tuvieron la dicha de conocerlo.

Javier era conocido por ser divertido, compasivo, comprensivo y por nunca juzgar a los demás. Tenía el don de hacer sentir bienvenidas a las personas y siempre encontraba la manera de sacar una sonrisa a quienes lo rodeaban. También amaba profundamente a sus mascotas, perros y gatos, quienes fueron fieles compañeros y le brindaron compañía, consuelo y felicidad.

Por encima de todo, Javier fue un padre ejemplar. Amó y apoyó a sus hijos incondicionalmente y se sentía inmensamente orgulloso de verlos crecer. Uno de los capítulos más felices de su vida fue convertirse en abuelo. Abrazó con enorme ilusión y alegría el privilegio de ser "Abuelo", disfrutando cada momento junto a su querida nieta.

Javier fue precedido en la muerte por su amado padre, Javier Gutierrez Diaz, cuyo amor por los automóviles y su inquebrantable dedicación a la familia dejaron un legado que Javier llevó con orgullo durante toda su vida.

Le sobreviven con profundo amor su madre, Barbarita Niño Villanueva; sus hijos, Jomar Gutierrez, Amber Gutierrez y Cattaleya Gutierrez; su adorada nieta, Lèxanna Gutierrez; sus hermanas, Natali (Christopher) Negron, Itzel (Edgar) Gonzalez y Ana Gutierrez (Alfonso Alvarez); así como sus queridos tíos, tías, primos, sobrinos, demás familiares y numerosos amigos, quienes conservarán para siempre su recuerdo en el corazón.

Aunque su tiempo entre nosotros fue demasiado corto, el amor, la alegría, la generosidad y el espíritu inolvidable de Javier seguirán viviendo en el corazón de todos aquellos que tuvieron la bendición de conocerlo y amarlo.

El velorio se llevará a cabo el domingo 19 de julio de 2026, de 4:00 p.m. a 9:00 p.m., en Seguin & Symonds Funeral Home, ubicado en 858 Sheridan Road, Highwood, Illinois 60040.

Los servicios funerarios se celebrarán el lunes 20 de julio de 2026, comenzando a las 8:30 a.m. en Seguin & Symonds Funeral Home. Las oraciones iniciarán a las 9:30 a.m., seguidas por el traslado hacia Christ Our Hope Parish – Saint James Church, ubicada en 134 North Avenue, Highwood, Illinois, donde la Santa Misa de Cuerpo Presente será celebrada a las 10:00 a.m. por el Reverendo Hernan Cuevas.
