Joan Margaret Loizzo age 94 of Highland Park passed away on October 19, 2022. She was born August 6, 1928 to the union of Jerome Berube and Alice Ellis. She was raised in Highland Park and attended Saint James grammar school then went on to graduate from Highland Park High school, class of 1946. After her schooling she worked for six years at ComEd in Highland Park. On September 22, 1951 she married Vincent J. Loizzo at Saint James Church and together began to build a family. She raised her three boys and was a loving homemaker. Joan was a devout catholic; her love for the Lord was admirable.
Beloved wife to the late Vincent J. Loizzo. Loving mother to James Loizzo (Becky Loizzo) of Lake Geneva, WI, Gary (Mary Jo) Loizzo of Grayslake, IL and Mark Loizzo of Spring Grove, IL. Dear grandmother to Clayton (Jill) Loizzo, Amber Loizzo, Jacquelin Loizzo, and Nicole (Josh) Riese. Great grandmother to Nathan Loizzo and Nolan Loizzo. Cherished sister to Carol (late Gilbert) Kosirog of Highland Park.
On Monday, October 24, 2022 a visitation will take place 9:00 A.M. until time of mass at 10:00 A.M. at Saint James Church 134 North Ave, Highwood, IL 60040. Internment will take place immediately following mass at Ascension Catholic cemetery 1920 W Buckley Rd, Libertyville, IL 60048.
In Leu of flowers masses will be appreciated to The United Parish of Immaculate Conception & St. James
