Joyce Marie Johnson

Joyce Marie Johnson nee: Werner age 82 a lifelong Chicago resident passed away peacefully Wednesday, October 15, 2025 at Saint Francis Hospital, Evanston. She was born October 23, 1942 to Richard and Marie Ann (Wagner) Werner. Joyce was a free spirit that was an enormous animal lover, it did not matter the species of animal, she loved them all from turtles to elephants, dogs to cats, cheetah to lions, fish to whales. She was never afraid of any animals, they all came to her knowing that she was a Dr. Doolittle of the animal kingdom.

Joyce is survived by her son Rick (Colleen) Mulligan and a grandson Alex. all of Denver, Colorado.

A Celebration of Life will be celebrated on Monday, October 27, 2025 starting at 1:00 P.M. at the Martha Washington Apartments Community Room, 2324 West Irving Park Road, (Irving Park Road & Western Avenue) Chicago, IL 

A private interment will take place at Saint Joseph Cemetery, River Grove, Illinois.
