Juan Saul Mentada

Juan Saul Mentada, age 43, of Waukegan, passed away suddenly on October 12, 2024. He was born on May 28, 1981, in Chicago, Illinois, to the union of Juan and Ricarda (Bueno) Mentado. Juan was raised in Chicago, attending school in the Little Village neighborhood until he moved with his family to Waukegan in 1996, he graduated from Waukegan High School.

Juan worked as a laborer for a landscaping company, where he poured his heart into every task. He cherished spending time with his family, growing up as one of nine siblings, with a special bond with his seven sisters. His relationships with them were a priority, and he always put them first.

Known for his love of spicy foods and dancing to cumbia music, Juan brought joy and laughter wherever he went. He accepted Jesus into his life and maintained a deep, meaningful relationship with his Lord and Savior.

Juan is survived by his parents, Juan and Ricarda Mentado of Round Lake; his brother, Tomas Mentado of Park City; and his sisters Eufracia (Jose) Moreno of Zion, Paulina (Angel) Viveros of Park City, Georgina (Hugo) Bollas of Highwood, Edith (Jesus) Martinez of Zion, the late Manuela Mentado, Rosalva (Jesus) Elias of Round Lake Beach, Jessica (Hector) Sotelo of Kenosha, WI, and Daisy (Fidel) Figueroa of Zion. He was a fond uncle to 29 nieces and nephews and a great uncle to 21.

Visitation will be held on Friday, November 1, 2024, from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Seguin & Symonds Funeral Home, 858 Sheridan Road, Highwood. Funeral services will take place on Saturday, November 2, 2024, visitation 10:30 AM until time of service 11:00 AM at Church of Joy, 2000 Western Ave., Waukegan, IL, with interment following at Vernon Cemetery, Lincolnshire, IL.

Juan Saul Mentado will be remembered for his love, humor, and the profound impact he had on the lives of those who knew him.
