Kathleen Jo Luebbers

Kathleen Jo Luebbers, age 65, of North Chicago, passed away suddenly on Saturday, October 19, 2024, at Lake Forest Hospital. She was born on January 9, 1959, in Evanston, IL, to Joseph and Phylis (Schweigert) Kubiak.

Kathleen graduated from Arlington Heights High School in the class of 1977. After 30 years of friendship, she married her best friend, Terry Luebbers, in 2013 in Waukegan, IL. A loving woman, Kathleen dedicated her life to serving others through her work as a waitress, holding positions at Omega in Vernon Hills, Grandma V’s in Mundelein, Journeys End in Mundelein, Hilltop Restaurant in Grayslake, and many other establishments.

Kathleen had a passion for travel, particularly enjoying vacations in San Diego, where she cherished visiting her sister and friends. Recently, her husband surprised her with a riding lawnmower, which she fondly referred to as her “Cadillac.” Kathleen was also an avid animal lover, often finding joy in the companionship of pets.

She is survived by her husband, Terry Luebbers; her sister, Pam Kubiak of San Diego; and her best friend, Cheryl Wrzek of San Diego. She is preceded in death by her sister, Leslie Kubiak, and her parents.

Kathleen’s warmth, laughter, and kindness will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Memorial visitation will be held on Monday, November 4, 2024 from 12:30 until time of memorial service at 1:30 PM at Seguin & Symonds Funeral Home, 858 Sheridan Road, Highwood, Illinois Rev's Robert and Debbie Richards will officiate the service.
