Lucilieta Schweitzer Obituary

In Loving Memory of

Lucilieta Sale Schweitzer
January 4, 1956 – December 14, 2024

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Lucilieta Sale Schweitzer, age 68, of Berwyn, Illinois, on the morning of Saturday, December 14, 2024, at Mac Neal Hospital in Berwyn. Lucilieta's life was one of grace, compassion, and tireless dedication to both her family and her community. Though she is no longer with us, her memory and influence will continue to inspire all those whose lives she touched.

Lucilietha was born on January 4, 1956, in Zambo, dol North, in the Philippines, to the union of Pablo and Lumina (Badelon) Saile. From an early age, it was clear that she was a person of great intelligence and passion for helping others. Educated in the Philippines, Lucilietha earned a Bachelor of Arts in Education, and her lifelong commitment to learning and nurturing others led her to a remarkable career as an educator. For 25 years, she taught kindergarten in the Philippines, where she left a lasting imprint on generations of young learners.

In addition to her career in education, Lucilietha worked for the Philippine Embassy, where she furthered her dedication to service. Her devotion to her work and her country was unwavering, and her pride in her Filipino heritage was evident in all aspects of her life.

Lucilieta married Frederico Omega, and together they raised three children: Vanessa, Mike Israel, and Kirt Omega. In 2010, she made the courageous decision to immigrate to the United States, where she continued her service in a new way, working as a health care worker. Her selflessness and compassion were evident in every role she took on, and her commitment to the well-being of others remained at the forefront of her life.

On September 14, 2014, Lucilieta married Charles Phillip Schweitzer at the Methodist Church in Berwyn, and the two shared a life of love and partnership. Lucilieta is deeply loved and survived by her husband, Charles, her children, Vanessa, Mike Israel, and Kirt Omega, and her step-son, Derek A. Schweitzer. a grandson Carmelo Anthony Omega. She is also survived by her three sisters and one brother in the Philippines, all of whom mourn her loss while celebrating the legacy of love and care she leaves behind.

A memorial visitation will be held on Monday, December 23, 2024, from 3:00 to 5:00 P.M. at the Richard Midway Funeral Home, located at 5749 S. Archer Ave., Chicago, IL. Lucilieta’s final resting place will be in her beloved Philippines, where she will be laid to rest.

Lucilieta’s family would like to express their deepest gratitude to the doctors, nurses, and staff at Mac Neal Hospital for their care and compassion during her final days. Though we mourn her passing, we take comfort in knowing that Lucilieta’s spirit, warmth, and kindness will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew her.

May Lucilieta rest in eternal peace, and may her memory be a source of strength, love, and inspiration to all who carry her in their hearts.
