Manuela was a lifelong Chicago resident who had a deep love for learning. She attended Northeastern Illinois University, the University of Illinois, and the University of Illinois Chicago Circle Campus, earning a Bachelor's degree in education. Manuela was also known for her vibrant spirit and love of adventure. One of her favorite places to visit was Six Flags Great America in Gurnee, Illinois, where she enjoyed the fireworks, rides, parades, and especially the annual Fright Fest. A self-proclaimed shopping enthusiast, she had a passion for finding the perfect items and spent many happy hours browsing stores and enjoying new purchases. She also loved dining out, particularly at her favorite restaurants, where she shared many memorable meals with family and friends.

On July 17, 1965, Manuela married her soulmate, Antonio Bustamante Jr., in Chicago. Together, they built a loving family. She is survived by her devoted husband, Antonio Jr.; their children, daughter Sylvia and son Antonio; 10 cherished grandchildren: Annette Carrillo, Jonathan Bustamante, Rafael Ramirez, Antonio Bustamante, Manuela Bustamante, Sylvia Kayla Bustamante, Salvador Golly, Cyrus Golly, Julius Bustamante, and Angelina Vasquez; as well as 22 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
