Maria (Reyes) Guerrero

Maria de los Angeles Guadalupe Reyes Ríos de Guerrero, age 73, passed away peacefully surrounded by her children on Friday, May 13, 2022 at Northwestern Memorial Hospital in Chicago. She was born April 4th, 1949 in Morelia, Michoacán, Mexico to the union of Jose and Maria Guadalupe (Ríos) Reyes. Maria married Alejandro Guerrero, who preceded her passing in 1992. 

In 1982, Maria and her family immigrated to Chicago and settled in the Pilsen neighborhood. Her family was of most value to her and she dedicated all her energy to raising and supporting her children and grandchildren. She centered her entire life around her family. They were her heart and soul. 

Likewise, Maria was & will continue to be the heart and soul of her family. She enjoyed drinking coffee, watching Spanish soap operas, listening to Radio Ranchito, shopping, and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and family pets. 

Maria is survived by her children Maria, Jorge, Diana, and Norma Guerrero; grandchildren, Alexander, Jordan, Angel, and Dayana Guerrero. All of these were her entire world.

Funeral - Thursday, May 19th, 2022 at Saint James Church, 134 North Avenue, Highwood, IL 60040. Visitation - 9:00-9:30 a.m. Mass - 9:30 a.m.  Father Brendan Curran, O.P. Celebrant.

Interment will follow at Ascension Cemetery, 1920 Buckley Rd, Libertyville, IL 60048.

María de los Ángeles Guadalupe Reyes Ríos de Guerrero, de 73 años, falleció pacíficamente rodeada por sus hijos el viernes 13 de mayo de 2022 en el Northwestern Memorial Hospital de Chicago. Nació el 4 de abril de 1949 en Morelia, Michoacán, México de la unión de José y María Guadalupe (Ríos) Reyes. María se casó con Alejandro Guerrero, quien precedió a su fallecimiento en 1992.

En 1982, María y su familia emigraron a Chicago y se establecieron en el barrio de Pilsen. Su familia era de gran valor para ella y dedicó toda su energía a criar y mantener a sus hijos y nietos. Centró toda su vida en su familia. Eran su corazón y su alma.

Asimismo, María fue y seguirá siendo el corazón y el alma de su familia. Le gustaba tomar café, ver telenovelas, escuchar Radio Ranchito, ir de compras y pasar tiempo con su familia, especialmente con sus nietos y las mascotas de la familia.

A María le sobreviven sus hijos María, Jorge, Diana y Norma Guerrero; nietos, Alexander, Jordan, Angel y Dayana Guerrero. Todos estos eran todo su mundo.
