Maria Leon Garcia, age 73 of Romeoville passed away on Thursday, February 1, 2024 at home. She was born October 23, 1950 in Durango, Canelas, Mexico to the union of Maximiliano Leon and Maria Elena Garcia Monarez.

She immigrated to the United States in 1984 to Chicago, Illinois from Mexico for a better life for her family and herself.  Maria was a humble homemaker that devoted her life to her grandchildren whom she cherished with all her heart.

Beloved mother to Gabriela Leon of Romeoville, Omar (Lupe) Leon of Romeville and Jose Luis (Dalia) Leon of Romeoville. Loving grandmother to Michelle, Darwin, the late Cassandra, Omar D'Angelo, Armando, Jessica, Joe, Mario, Emilio, Camilo, and Bianca. Dear great grandmother to Klair, Monica, Gianni, Paulina and Kataleya. Dear sister of the late Alba Elena Leon Garcia, Olga Guillermina Leon Garcia, Yolanda Margarita Leon Garcia, Josefina Leon Garcia, the late Rafael Leon Garcia, Jose Antonio Leon Garcia, Marianela Cardenas Garcia and Ramiro Cardenas Garcia.
