Obituary for Marianne Lucente (nee Carani)

Marianne Lucente, age 65, a lifelong resident of Highland Park, Illinois, passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones. Born on May 10, 1959 in Highland Park, to Domenico and Anna (nee Minorini) Carani, she was the oldest of their children. Marianne attended Immaculate Conception School and graduated from Highland Park High School class of 1977.

While working at Sunset Foods in Highland Park, Marianne met her future husband, Antonio Lucente. The couple married on September 26, 1981, at Immaculate Conception Church, beginning a beautiful partnership filled with love and devotion.

Marianne dedicated her professional life to serving others as an administrative assistant at Allstate Insurance, the Medical Offices of Dr. Kessler, and Deerfield High School District 113 in Special Education. Known for her selflessness and positivity, she prioritized family above all else, creating a nurturing environment for her loved ones.

A passionate enthusiast of pickleball, Marianne embraced an active lifestyle, cherishing the joy of her family and community.

She is survived by her loving husband, Tony, and their two sons, Michael (Nina) Lucente of Highwood and Joey Lucente of Chicago. She also leaves behind her mother, Anna Carani of Sebastian, FL, her brother Marco (Shelley) Carani of Sebastian, FL, and three cherished nieces, Laura, Cristina, and Alysa Carani.

Marianne was preceded in death by her father, Domenico Carani, and her father-in-law, Luca Lucente.

Family and friends are invited to gather for a visitation on Wednesday, October 23, 2024, from 9:00 AM until the time of the funeral mass at 10:00 AM at Christ Our Hope Parish, Immaculate Conception Church, located at 770 Deerfield Road, Highland Park. Rev. James Merold will officiate the service. Private entombment will take place in the spring of 2025 at Ascension Cemetery in Libertyville, Illinois.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests memorial donations to cancer research charities of your choice in Marianne's memory. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Seguin & Symonds Funeral Home in Highwood.

Marianne will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew her.
