Marivie Almeida Alandy, 66, Of Hainesville, IL, passed away Wednesday, October 22, 2025 at the Condell Medical Center of Libertyville, IL, she was born January 13, 1959 in Manila, Philippines, and was the fourth of eight children born to the union of Godofredo Jr. and Maxima Almeida, she was a graduate of St. Joseph College of the Philippines, where she received her BS in Psychology, she met the love of her life Miguel “Mike” Alandy, married and immigrated to the US in 1986 to Chicago, with stays in Kalamazoo, MI, to Mundelein, and finally to Hainesville, where Mike was Ordained as a Catholic Deacon, and then Marivie’s spiritual career shifted into high gear, she was an involved member of St. Mary of the Annunciation for over 24 years, at Fremont Center, where she was a member of Parish Council and the Eucharistic Minister Coordinator.
Marivie is survived by her loving husband of 39 years, Miguel “Mike” Alandy of Hainesville, IL, her daughter: Melissa Mae (William Tan) Alandy of Chicago, IL, her brothers and sisters; Rodrigo (Victoria) Almeida, the late Leonardo Almeida, Corazon (Eduardo) Sarmiento, Marilyn Almeida, Godofredo Almeida III, Vergel (Tess) Almeida, and Maria Cristina Almeida, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins, she is preceded in death by her parents, Godofredo Jr. and Maxima Almeida, and her granddaughter, Basil Alandy Tan.
Visitation will be held from 2:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. Sunday, October 26, 2025 at the Symonds Lakes Funeral Home 111 W. Belvidere Rd. Grayslake, IL, 60030, and a Visitation to be held Monday morning, 10:00 AM at the Saint Mary of the Annunciation Catholic Church 22333 W. Erhart Rd, Mundelein, IL 60060, Funeral Mass of Resurrection to be celebrated at 11:00 AM.
