Martha (Crowell) Gill

Martha Crowell Gill died June 28th, 2023 due to complications from cancer. Martha was born in Greensboro, North Carolina on September 10th, 1957 to the union of Carl and Maxine Crowell. She fondly remembered her childhood in Greensboro, especially attending concerts at the Coliseum and taking long canoe trips through the countryside. After completing her undergraduate degree at the University of North Carolina Greensboro she continued her education at the University of Minnesota, receiving her Masters in Chemistry. She settled in Illinois and began her career at Baxter before starting her family. Martha loved travel, gardening, playing games, reading, and hosting celebrations. She will be remembered for her humor, resilience, generosity, and intelligence.

Martha is survived by her children, Patrick and Lindsey, her son-in-law Mark, her best friend Karen, and cousin Patricia. She will be missed by family, innumerable friends and neighbors, and those she mentored over the decades.

A memorial gathering will be held 11:00 AM until time of memorial services at 12:00 Noon Saturday, July 15, 2023 at the Symonds Lakes Funeral Home 111 W. Belvidere Rd. Grayslake, IL 60030, Rev.
