Mary Theresa (Heffernan) Auger

Mary Theresa Auger, 93, of Round Lake Beach, IL, passed away Monday, May 25, 2026 at the Northwestern McHenry Medical Center, She was born January 5, 1933 in Biddeford, ME, and the was the only daughter of three children born to the union of William and Helen Heffernan, in 1953 at the age of 23, Mary moved to Chicago and worked for Illinois Bell as at telephone operator from 1953 t0 1958, she was a avid reader, enjoyed word searches, and playing cards.

Mary is survived by her son; Raymond (Margaret) Auger of Algonquin, and her daughter; Antoinette (James) Gorney of Lake Villa, her grandchildren; Amanda (Adwin) Hesseltine, Michael (Anna) Auger, Daniel Gorney, Jason Gorney, and the late Andrew Gorney, her great grandchildren; John “Jack” Auger, and Maisie Auger.

Graveside interment of cremains will be held 1:00 PM Friday, June 5, 2026 at the Ascension Catholic Cemetery, 1920 Buckley Rd, Libertyville, IL 60048.  The Symonds Lakes Funeral Home of Grayslake, IL were entrusted with arrangements. for  additional information please contact the funeral home at 847-543-1080
