Mertell Lee Langley, nee Smikle, age 80 of Evantston and Manchester, Jamaica, transitioned on February 24, 2022 after a long illness.
She was born in Pleasant Valley, Jamaica to Fredrick and Edith Smikle on February 12, 1942.
Mertell is survived by her 4 children - Audrey, Patrick, Christopher, and Courtney, as well as grand children. She is also survived by her mother Edith Smikle, 4 sisters - Norma, Velonia, Fredrica, Doreen, as well as 5 brothers - Linton, Trevor, Herbert, Gilroy, and Herman. 
Mertell leaves behind many beloved in-laws, nieces, including the one that was always by her side through her illness - Michelle, nephews, and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her husband, David, her sister, Dorothy, and her father, Fredrick.
Mertell was always a loving soul, steeped in humility. She was always there for family and an exemplary mother to her children.
Those who came to know her will always remember her quiet but loving demeanor, always seeming to care about the welfare of others around her.
Mertell will be greatly missed by family, friends, and colleagues.
