Mickey Lee Newsome

Mickey Lee Newsome age 71 of Chicago passed away on Tuesday, July 29, 2025 in Chicago, Illinois. He was born in Chicago, Illinois on February 26, 1954 to the proud parents, James and Alice (Skinner) Newsome, Sr.  Mickey was one of eleven children and is preceded in death by his parents, his brothers James, Jr., Jackie, Maurice, Garfield his sisters Lucille and Annie Mae.

Mickey attended Farragut High School. After attending high school he opened his very own construction company M&N Contractors. He employeed family and friends and enjoyed working with his hands bringing his customer vision to light. Mickey gave his life to God accepting Christ as his Lord and Savior at Salem Baptist Church. He was a loving and hard working father and brother who enjoyed helping friends and family whoever he came across. Mickey was a very serious minded person who loved numbers and having fun.

Mickey leaves to cherish his memories his brothers Anthony, Troy, Earl, his sisters Eartha, Jamie and Kacey. His daughters Micketa (Clementeen Newsome), Chelena and Metrena (Diane Clay), Eboni (Diane Greer). His grandchildren Semaj, Khalilah and Oluwasumisale. His great grandson Davine and a host of nieces and nephews that will forever cherish his memory.
