Miriam Trogi, of Highland Park, Illinois, passed away peacefully on December 28, 2025, at the age of 86. She was born on April 14,1939, in Piandelagotti, Italy, to Paolo Carzoli and Cesira Capitani. In her youth, she immigrated with her family to Montreal, Canada, where she built a life grounded in faith, tradition, and hard work.
On January 4, 1969, Miriam married the love of her life, Eliseo Trogi. Following their marriage, the couple immigrated to the United States and settled in Highland Park, Illinois, where Miriam remained a devoted and active member of the community.
Miriam was a talented seamstress and worked for Saks Fifth Avenue, where she was known for her exceptional skill, precision, and pride in her craft.
A deeply devoted Catholic, Miriam’s faith meant everything to her and guided her daily life. She was a faithful member of the Sacred Heart Guild of Saint James Church, rarely missing early morning Mass, and found great comfort and strength in her daily rosary prayers. Her faith was not only practiced, but lived—through kindness, humility, and devotion to others.
Miriam was actively involved in many organizations throughout her life, including the Former Italian Women’s Prosperity Club, Modenese Society, Highland Park Woman’s Club, Highwood Bocce Ball Club, Women of the Loyal Order of the Moose Highland Park Lodge 446, and Former Cuore Arte, where she formed lasting friendships and generously gave of her time.
She was the beloved wife of the late Eliseo Trogi and the cherished and loving mother of Paul Trogi. Miriam was also the dear sister of the late Angiolina (the late Sergio) Bulgarelli and the late Giuseppe (Nilde) Carzoli, both of Montreal.
Miriam will be remembered for her unwavering faith, warm heart, strong spirit, and lifelong devotion to family, community, and God. Her legacy of love and faith will live on in all who were blessed to know her.
