Noemi Calistri, 87, of Highwood, Illinois, passed away peacefully on August 9, 2025.
She was born on April 24, 1938, in Castelluccio, Bologna, Italy, to Francisco "Quinto" Lancioni and Yolanda Fabbri. On August 19, 1961, she married the love of her life, Luciano Calistri, in their hometown of Castelluccio. The following year, in 1962, they immigrated to Highwood, Illinois, where they built their life together.
A devoted homemaker, Noemi filled her home with warmth, hospitality, and the irresistible aromas of her beloved Italian cooking. Her lasagna and pasta fritta were family favorites, always made with love. She had a gift for gardening, tending her roses and pear trees with the same care she gave to her family.
Noemi was a faithful member of Saint James Church and the Sacred Heart Guild. She lived her Catholic faith deeply, praying the rosary daily and attending Mass regularly. Friday nights were often spent in the joyful company of friends and family, playing lively games of Rummy.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Luciano Calistri.
Noemi is survived by her children Paul (Jodi) Calistri of Waukegan, IL, George (Elsa) Calistri of Deerfield, IL, and Lora (Tony) Rampino of Hawthorn Woods, IL; grandchildren Adam (Alexia) Calistri, Joey (fiancée Brianna Stutz) Calistri, Sami (Josh) McCullough, Anthony Rampino, and Bella Rampino; and great-grandchildren Luke Calistri and Gianna Calistri. She is also survived by her siblings Clara (late Alfio) Fabbri, Elide (Gregg) Blackford, Joseph (late Kay) Lancioni, and Angela (Angelo) Vanoni.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Alzheimer's Association.
