Phyllis D. Stands

Phyllis D. Stands, age 75 of Chicago passed away on Monday, April 18, 2022 at Froedtert Saint Catherine's Medical Center, Kenosha, Wisconsin. She was born April 16, 1947 in Denver, Colorado to the union of Ike and Jennie (Lopez) Stands. She was a graduate of Lakeview High School, class of 1965, She worked for 16 years at Advanced Transformers in Chicago and then for 16 years until her retirement at Culligan Water Treatment Company, Northbrook. Phyllis was born into the Oglala Sioux Tribe, Rosebud, South Dakota and was an active member of the American Indian Center, Chicago and St. Augustines Center for American Indians in Chicago. Phyllis home was a place of solace and was always filled with music. 

Dear sister of Aaron Smith, the late John Stands and the late Bradley Logan. Fond aunt of Tracy Logan, Valerie Logan, Cynthia Smith, Roosevelt Logan, John Stands and Aaron "Porky" Stands. Great aunt to many. Cherished by her extended family, her sister Christine Miranda, A niece Charlene Calero, Great nieces Kayla, Kassandra and Ariana Calero and a great nephew Antonio Calero.

Visitation Sunday, April April 24, 2022 from 3:00 to 9:00 P.M. at Seguin & Symonds Funeral Home, 858 Sheridan Road, Highwood, IL 60040. Cremation will be private.
