Alex was just 43 years old when he passed away on Monday, December 13, 2021. He was born on November 23, 1978 in Mexico City, Mexico and came to the US when he was only a child.
Today marks the memory of my father, Alex, so that together we may acknowledge and share both our joy in the gift that his life was to us, and the pain that his passing brings. In sharing these moments and grief together today, may we lessen the pain and remember more clearly the joy.
He was a son, a brother, a father, a cousin, a nephew, a beautiful bright soul still full of so much life and love to give. Alejandro was an amazing artist who loved to paint and make music. Each one inspiring and complementing the other symbiotically. He always made us laugh, I think it is fair to say he was the silliest in the room. Always there for us and yes, especially at the most important times and dates. He always lit up the room with all the joy, laughter, and amazing cooking skills he brought to the table. He always looked up to us and we like to believe he still will. He was a free, untamed soul that did not follow normal popular ideas.
Alex is survived by his children Alejandro Zamudio and Alexia Zamudio, his mother Maria del Carmen Prieto and his siblings Gabriela, Christian, Vianey and Emily Zamudio. He was a genuinely optimistic man and that optimism guided each of us that anything is possible. His memory will serve a reminder that to passionately love and protect us in our lives. Rest in paradise.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, December 18, 2021 from 4:00 to 8:00 P.M. at the Richard Midway Funeral Home, 5749 S. Archer Avenue, Chicago, IL . Interment will be private.
