Reba Mae Murphy

Reba Mae Murphy, age 79 of Cincinnati, Ohio passed away peacefully Friday evening September 10, 2021 at Aperion Care Evanston, Illinois. She was born November 12, 1941 in Cincinnati, Ohio to the union of Melger E. and Gladys (Smith) Hicks and has resided in Cincinnati, Covington, Kentucky, Chicago, Illinois and the last 8 years in Oak Lawn, Illinois. She attended St. Rits's School of the Deaf K-12 in Cincinnati. She retired from the United States Postal Service in River Grove, IL.  She was also a member of the former Chicago Club for the Deaf.

Loving mother of Jerry Murphy of Covington, KY, the late Patrick Murphy and Burt (Stacia) Murphy of Bloomington, IL. Fond grandmother of the late Jerry Murphy, Jr., Shirley Murphy of Jacksonville, FL, Shiri (Hector) Feliciano of Virginia Beach, VA, Jasmine Murphy of Jacksonville, FL, Santana Murphy of Silverton, MD, Susan Cook of Cincinnati, OH, Pamela (Jimmy) Piper of Covington, KY, late Marina Murphy, Patrick Murphy, Jr. of Cincinnati, OH, Timothy Murphy of Sandwich, IL, Kristi (Shoan) Setters of Peru, IL, Amber (Scottie) Wiliford of Bloomington, IL and Sarah Murphy of Bloomington, IL. Great grandmother of many. Dear sister of late Elizabeth (late Charles) Ballard, Joan (late Leroy) Landwehr, Late Charles Hicks, late Dana Hicks, late Fred Hicks and late Jack Hicks. Fond aunt to many. Best companion and protector Frank Presta of Oak Lawn.

Visitation Saturday, September 18, 2021 from 4:00 P.M. until time of an evening funeral service at 7:00 P.M. at the Seguin & Symonds Funeral Home, 858 Sheridan Road, Highwood, IL. Rev. Joe Green, Chaplain of Unity Hospice, officiating.  

Kentucky Services

Visitation, Monday, September 20, 2021 10:00 AM until time of funeral mass 12:05 AM at Mother of God Roman Catholic Church, 119 W. 6th Street, Covington, KY 41011 Rev. Michael Comer, celebrant.

Cremation will be private.
