Robert Elliott Prais, 65, of Highwood, Illinois, passed away on September 30, 2026, following a courageous year-long battle with cancer.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents, Bernard and Patricia Prais. He is survived by his sister Cindy(Steve Dietz) and their son, Justin; and his sister Cheri(Vince Piat) and their children, Caitlin and Ben.
Bob was a graduate of Lake Forest High School, Class of 1979, and after many years of hard work, Bob retired in 2025. An avid golfer, Bob loved Foss Park Golf Course, where he participated in many tournaments and built lasting friendships on and off the course. Horse racing held a special place in Bob's heart, and one of the highlights was attending the Kentucky Derby.
Bob was also a devoted sports fan. Among the teams closest to his heart were the Miami Dolphins, Chicago Blackhawks, and Baltimore Orioles. He loved quoting lines from his favorite comedy movies, and watching Jeopardy was a fixture of his daily routine.
Some of Bob's best times were the simplest ones: gathering with family and friends for board games, sharing laughs, and enjoying the company of those around him. He especially treasured the times he spent with two of his favorite people, Hilary and Laurali.
Bob will be remembered for his sense of humor and the many memories he made with family and friends. Above all, he truly lived life to the fullest.
