Robert Samuel Ventrella

Robert Samuel Ventrella, age 79 of Waukegan passed away on Tuesday, October 18, 2022 at the Captain James A. Lovell Federal Health Care Center, North Chicago. He was born in Chicago on January 11, 1943 to the union of Joseph Chase and Doris (Weiner) Ventrella. Robert achieved a Bachelors in education from Southern Illinois University and then received his Masters in education from Northern Illinois University. He served in the U.S. Army for 20 years; serving in France, Japan, Belgium, Vietnam, Korea, England and United States. He retired as a Sergeant 1st Class. After retirement from active duty he worked as a private contractor on a job in Saudi Arabia. He also spoke two languages French and Arabic. On May 15, 2010 Robert married Wendy Ellen Moore at Lake County Courthouse in Waukegan, Illinois. He served as a member of the Fort Sheridan U S Army Retirement Council.

Beloved husband to Wendy Ellen Moore-Ventrella. Loving father to Tatyana Ventrella of Shelburne, New Hampshire, Matthew Ventrella of London and Sarah (Matthew) Newman of Gloucester, England. Cherished grandfather to Celeste (Allan) Burling of Livonia, MI, and Courtney (Nick) Faulhaber of Champaign, IL. Dear great grandfather to Charlie, James, Willow, Logan, Brendyn, Nathan, Makayla, and Paige. Loving brother to Gerry (Carol) Ventrella of Chicago, IL. 

He is preceded in death by his third wife Susan Louise Ventrella nee: Toomey on January 19, 2002.

A visitation will take place Friday, November 4, 2022 from 11:00 A.M. until time of funeral service at 12:00 P.M. at the Seguin & Symonds Funeral Home, 858 Sheridan Road, Highwood IL.  Military honors will take place immediately after the service at 1:00 P.M. at Fort Sheridan National Cemetery on Sheridan Road at Vatman Road, Highwood.
