Roger Lunardi

Roger Michael Lunardi, age 83, of Highwood, Illinois passed away peacefully on June 13, 2024 at Highland Park Hospital. He was born on July 6, 1940 in Highland Park, Illinois to the union of Michael and Salva (Contri) Lunardi. He was a proud resident of Highwood all his life and graduated from Highland Park High Schools class of 1958. He married the love of his life, Karen (Jeannie Bell as he called her), on August 11, 1973 at Saint James Church in Highwood. They celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary last summer. Roger had two siblings Lee Lunardi (Jerry Hastings) and the late Richard (Karen). He was the proud father of Roger, Rocky (Jessica) and Beth (Kurt) Kolb. Even prouder grandfather to Jack, Madison, Wyatt, Ryan, and Emma. 

Roger was lovingly referred to as Mr. Highwood by his family and friends. He enjoyed riding around town with Jeannie Bell. One arm hanging out the window, saying "what's new in town?". Another favorite was meeting his friends downtown for coffee and just hanging out. More than anything he enjoyed watching all his grandchildren play sports and passing along his love of baseball. He coached little league in Highwood and was a St. Louis Cardinals fan. 

In lieu of flowers contributions can be made to the Highwood Recreation Center, 432 Green Bay Road, Highwood, IL 60040 in Roger's name would be appreciated. 

Services will be held on Tuesday June 18, 2024 with a public visitation at 9am at Christ Our Hope Parish, Immaculate Conception Church, 770 Deerfield Road, Highland Park with mass at 10am. Interment to follow at Ascension Cemetery, 1920 Buckley Road, Libertyville. 

Following the interment friends are invited to join with the family at the Nite  N' Gale Restaurant, 346 Sheridan Road, Highwood
