Ruth Ann Moorman Obituary

In Loving Memory of Ruth Ann Moorman

October 14th, 1930 – July 9th, 2025

Ruth Ann Moorman passed away peacefully, surrounded by family, after having lived an incredibly full and wonderful life. Born in Saint Louis, Ann grew up with her younger brothers Jack and Peter. She graduated from Maryville College of the Sacred Heart. She met and married William (Bill) Moorman in 1948, and eventually relocated to Lake Forest, IL, where they built their lives together and raised seven children. Ann was a woman of remarkable achievements. Her warmth and generosity truly set her apart. After raising her children, she became a successful real-estate agent in Chicago and spent many years with the Chicago Yacht Club, where she became the first female race committee chairman in the Club’s history. She then received a master’s degree in Divinity from Loyola University and devoted herself to serving others for over forty years, until she turned 89. Ann was a fixture at Lake Forest Beach; her love for sun and water was more than just a passion.

Ann was the proud mother of seven children. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Bill; her sons, Billy Moorman, John Moorman (Anne), Tom Moorman (Candace); and her daughter, Mary Banks. She is survived by her children Ted Moorman (Susan), Kamy Durot (Rob), and Jim Moorman (Amy). Ann absolutely adored her sixteen grandchildren: Kristen Moorman, Nicole Moorman,

Jessica Moorman, Billy Moorman (Meghan), James Moorman, Charles Moorman, Timothy Moorman, Nicholas Moorman, Ted Weitzel (Becky), Katie Hillard (TJ), Chris Klocke (Emelia), Elizabeth Moorman, Alexann Daddono, Tommy Daddono, Jillian Moorman, Emily Moorman, and her eleven great-grandchildren. Ann's life will be honored at Immaculate Conception Parish, 726 Deerfield Road,

Highland Park, Illinois, on August 2, 2025. Visitation begins at 9:00 AM, with a Mass at 10:00 AM, followed by a private interment.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the charity of their choice in honor of Ann’s generous spirit.

May her soul rest in eternal peace. She will be forever cherished and deeply missed.
