Sarah Kirby

With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Sarah Kirby of Des Plaines, Illinois who passed away on February 20, 2023 at the age of 75. She was born June 9, 1947 in Chicago, Illinois the daughter of Molina (Kinsey)  and Carl Hammarbeck. She graduated from Carl Schurz High School, Chicago class of 1965 and worked as a legal secretary for Bell & Howell. Sarah was a homemaker, she enjoyed knitting, was an avid reader and she spent countless hours playing cards with her lifelong best friend, Mary Manke.

She was loved and cherished by many people including : her children, Phillip Boush, Therisa Gonzalez and Tara Mitchell (Chris); her grandchildren, Christian Gonzalez (Bailey), Cecily Saenz (John), Dan Boush (Anjelika), Alexis, Garrick and David Mitchell; 8 great grandchildren; her brothers, John Hammarbeck and James Hammarbeck, and many nieces and nephews.

 She was preceded in death by both her parents, and her siblings: Eric Hammarbeck, Jeff Hammarbeck, Kathy Sprenkle and Lori Hamlin.

Visitation Thursday, February 23, 2023 from 4:00 to 9:00 PM at the Seguin & Symonds Funeral Home, 858 Sheridan Road, Highwood. A private graveside service for family will be held on Friday, February 24, 2023 1:00 PM at Memory Gardens Cemetery, 2501 East Euclid Avenue, Arlington Heights, IL.
