Susan Ruth Anderson

Susan Ruth Anderson, age 57 of Loudon, Tennessee formerly of Villa Park and Lombard, Illinois passed away on May 19, 2021 at the Tennova Health Care Turkey Creek Medical Center in Knoxville, Tennessee. She was born on December 12, 1963 in Downers Grove, Illinois to the union of Jimmy and Adrienne (McCall) Anderson. She was raised in Lombard and graduated from Glenbard South High School, class of 1981. On St. Patricks Day, March 17, 1988 she married Daniel Marin  with a family soon to follow. In October of 1989 their son Daniel Martin, followed by Alicia Anne in November of 1992, came into their lives. Sue was an active participant at Schafer Elementary School in Villa Park, working as a Teacher’s Assistant for 15 years and served as PTA President for a number of years, coming up with new and creative ways to engage students, parents, and faculty. While her children were in high school Sue attended the College of DuPage where she earned an Associates Degree in General Education.  

Sue was as much a homebody as a reveler, making her the hostess with the mostest. She enjoyed having friends, family, neighbors, strangers, you name it over to her home, any reason to hold a party was a good reason to Sue. From the minute you walked in, the oven was going with some delicious homemade snack and the blender would be churning, ready to pour out a glass full of her infamous strawberry daiquiris right into your hand. Her home was always an open one, people would be swimming outside, others bubbling away in the hot tub, and still more indoors having laughs if not stuffing their face. From enormous mixed gatherings, to camping & road trips, to intimate gatherings, Sue's main concern was that everyone had a good time. Along with cooking, she enjoyed crafting, baking, and an occasional evening of karaoke. Sue’s energy, spontaneity, and all around good spirit will be sorely missed.

Sue is predeceased by her late husband David Anderson, her father and mother Jimmy and Adrienne Anderson. Sue is survived by and the loving mother of Daniel and Alicia Marin and their father Daniel Marin of Villa Park, fond sister of John (Sherri) Anderson of Warrenville, Scott (Doreen) Anderson of St. Charles, and Brad (Heather) Anderson of Batavia. Cherished aunt and cousin to many.

A memorial visitation will be held on Saturday, June 19, 2021 from 4 to 8 p.m. with a celebration of life service beginning at 7:00 p.m. The service will take place at Seguin & Symonds Funeral Home, 858 Sheridan Road, Highwood, Illinois.
