Virginia Mae Isaacs

Virginia Mae Isaacs, of Chicago, Illinois, and briefly of Evanston, Illinois, passed away peacefully on September 21, 2023, at the age of 98. She was born on November 4, 1924, in Peoria, Illinois, to John Franklin Backus and Nellie Cothran Backus.
Virginia lived her life to the fullest, always ready to eat, drink, laugh, and dance. Her adventurous spirit and strength made her a one-of-a-kind woman, and her faith as a Jehovah’s Witness guided her throughout her life. She held many roles, including daughter, sister, wife, friend, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great grandmother, housekeeper, machinist, secretary, and explorer.
Virginia had a passion for dancing, reading, listening to music, watching movies, going on walks, driving, embarking on adventures, shopping, and enjoying a good glass of wine. 

She is survived by her children, Richard Anthony (Opal), Patty, Dianne, Cathy (Carl), and Tracey (Patrick) and her brother, Robin (Karen). She leaves behind a legacy in her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren: Ashley (Bill); Grace; Nicole; Kenny; Richard Ray; Kenneth Kase; Richard Anthony (“Lil” Richard), Courtney; Kenneth; Sarah McMillian; Caitlyn Bachman; Kendall Hamilton; Caiden; Cora; Nolan; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her brothers and sisters; and her great-grandson Harrison.

Virginia Mae Isaacs will be deeply missed by her friends, family, and all who knew her. Her spirit, love, and laughter will forever be remembered.

A memorial visitation will be taking place on Sunday, October 1, 2023 at 2:00 P.M. Until time of memorial service starting at 3:00 P.M. until 4:00 P.M. at Mount Olive Church 3850 N Tripp Ave, Chicago, IL 60641
