Yolanda Hill, 87, of Highland Park, Illinois passed away on February 12, 2025 at Lake Forest Hospital. She was born on August 15, 1937 in Chicago, IL to the union of Walter Hembree and Marjorie Venable. Yolanda grew up with a deep love for learning. She graduated from Hyde Park High School and later pursued a degree in accounting at Roosevelt University.
On November 17, 1963, Yolanda married the love of her life, John Henry Hill, Jr., at St. Columbine Catholic Church in Chicago. The couple created a beautiful life together and settled in Highland Park, where they raised their daughter. Their home on Summit Avenue, famously known as the “Bubble Window House” because of the unique front kitchen window, became a warm and welcoming center for their friends loved ones.
Yolanda worked as a private banker at the First National Bank of Highland Park for 30 years, where she earned the respect and admiration of her colleagues and clients for her expertise and dedication.
Yolanda is preceded in death by her dear husband, John, who passed away on August 13, 2017. She is survived by her loving daughter, Kimberly Hill of Lake Bluff, and two cherished grandsons, Alexander and Shane Rodriguez.
Visitation will be held on Friday, February 21, 2025, from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Seguin & Symonds Funeral Home, 858 Sheridan Road, Highwood, IL. An evening service will begin at 8:00 PM, with Rev. James Merold officiating. A private interment will take place on Saturday, February 22, 2025, at 11:00 AM at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Lake Geneva, WI.
Yolanda’s kindness, generosity, and unwavering love for her family will be deeply missed. May she rest in peace.
